Best Hand Mixers 2018 guide – the most comprehensive hand mixer review!

The best hand mixers 2018 guide – meet your best choice here

For those beginners and the occasional bakers, it’s understandable that it can be challenging to come out with a justified reason to spend a big number on a stand mixer. Well, one of the great alternatives is to take a step back and look for a trusty yet affordable hand mixer.

And, here it comes, this guide is going to help you to pick from the ten best hand mixers 2018 that you can get on the market.

The hand mixer is essentially a whisk that is electrically powered. It is undoubtedly a lot more convenient, easier to manoeuvre and in fact, that is the best tool for you if all you need to do is just to whip a few eggs or a tiny quantity of cream and want it to be done within five minutes.

Some may argue that it is completely possible for you to make most of the things without a hand mixer, but, why bother if there is an ideal gadget to help in saving your time and make your life easier? Not to mention the more consistent texture it gives and the chances you get for trying out the recipes that you really wanted to try for a long time but you are just unable to do that manually.

Ask anyone who has a hand mixer if they are willing to go back to mixing things manually. You can expect to be called crazy. With a hand mixer, you are going to feel like a pampered child when you are dealing with those labour-intensive tasks such as whipping, beating and kneading.

Before diving deep into the details, here’s a little summary about the key specs of models that you are going to discuss today!

Dualit-89300-hand-mixer

This sleek and beautiful Dualit hand mixer is a model you must consider if you are looking for a mixer to power your everyday baking activities.

One of the most fantastic features of this model is its heavy duty 400W motor. You may easily find yourself whipping and mixing with ease due to this powerful motor.

This model has a four-speed setting and as much as you can expect, three attachments – the dough hooks, balloon whisk and the flat beaters are included.

Dualit-89300-hand-mixerThese attachments are sufficient for dealing with pretty much all of the basic recipes. So, rest assured that you will not need to purchase any extra attachments.

The attachments are dishwasher safe – you don’t have to deal with the mess after your baking session. The other thoughtful feature is that there are left and right symbols on the attachments to instruct you to insert correctly.

The handle is made to be gripped comfortably and there is also an ejector button on top. This button is extremely helpful when you are trying to remove the attachments. Think about a model that doesn’t have this feature – you may end up with batter spewed on the kitchen floor when you are forcefully trying to remove the beaters.

This model is also a lovely piece when you consider it from the perspective of storing. The cord is retractable andDualit-89300-hand-mixer there is an internal storage for its plug. You can be sure that it will stay exactly how you place it in your cupboard – tidy and tangle-free.

By the way, this Dualit hand mixer also comes at canvas white and metallic red colour, too. If you are interested in knowing more about it, you may click on the link below.

What are others saying?

This Dualit hand mixer performed well at mixing and whisking ingredient. The fact that it is easy to use and clean has also earned itself the love from the bakers.

Some commented the motor seems to labour when it is preparing dough – there is a struggling noise from the motor. Though, the mixture is still perfectly combined.

The other issue is that there are some disappointed buyers claiming that the gears of this model are likely to fail after about one or two years of use.

2. KitchenAid® 9-Speed Digital Hand Mixer

Price: £109

Motor: 85W

Weight: 1.1KG

Speed settings: 9

Attachments: Beaters, dough hooks, balloon whisk, mixing rod (dishwasher safe)

Warranty: 2 years

Best for – Ambitious and keen bakers

KitchenAid®-9-Speed-Digital-Hand-Mixer

Among the best hand mixers 2018, this is the superstar in the hand mixer world – the KitchenAid® 9-speed hand mixer.

The KitchenAid® products are widely known for their attractive, retro design and superior quality.

For example, the DC (direct current) motors of these mixers allow them to work powerfully while using a low wattage of 85W. This means you can save a portion of your bill.

Compared with the average AC (alternative current) motors, DC motors are more energy-efficient and 20% more KitchenAid®-9-Speed-Digital-Hand-Mixerpowerful. They allow the mixers to work quieter and handle thick batter and dough effortlessly.

This model comes with a nine-speed setting – speed one for slowing combining the ingredients, speed six for mixing the batter and speed nine for beating meringue.

The smart Soft StartTM Feature ensures the beaters are gradually brought up to the desired speed so you don’t have to worry that the ingredients will be splattered when you are changing from a lower speed to a higher speed.

Other than the usual three basic attachments, there is also an extra attachment included in the purchase. It is a mixing rod that you can use in making sauces or liquids such as milkshakes and smoothies.

KitchenAid®-9-Speed-Digital-Hand-MixerThere is no centre post in the beaters – a feature to avoid food collecting there and you can clean them easily. An attachment ejecting button is featured in this model, too.

These parts are dishwasher safe and the other lovely point is that these attachments come with a handy cotton pouch so you can keep appropriately without losing them.

Its cord can be swivelled and locked into either the left or right side, so no matter which angle you are coming from, the ingredients can be approached comfortably. There is also a little strap included helping to keep your cord neat when storing it in the cupboard.

This high-end hand mixer carries a weight of 1.1KG and its quality will never cheat.

What are others saying?

KitchenAid® continues to score a high mark in meeting its quality. The speeds can be switched easily from one to another and the slow start feature allows the bakers to gain more control and finish with fewer messes.

The result? Bakers could not be happier with the very stiff meringue it is able to make.

No critical review is found with this model but some mentioned that compared with some other old KitchenAid® models, the beaters of this model tend to wobble more.

3. Russell Hobbs 22960 Easy Prep Hand Mixer

Price: £37.20

Motor: 500W

Weight: 1.11KG

Speed settings: 4

Attachments: Beaters, dough hooks (dishwasher safe)

Warranty: 2 years

Best for – Onboard storage

Russell-Hobbs-22960-Easy-Prep-Hand-Mixer

This Russell Hobbs hand mixer is a little gem in the kitchen appliance world.

It might not be the prettiest among all but at the price of £37, its 500W motor makes it stands out when compared with other similar models – this is a wattage more often seen in the £40-60 bracket.

Apart from the four-speed setting, there is also a useful turbo button to give your food mixture a blast if necessary – this button is located under the handle where your finger can comfortably reach.

Russell Hobbs 22960 Easy Prep Hand MixerIf you are sick of a heap of attachments dropping on your kitchen floor whenever you open your cupboard, this model is the perfect choice for you.

Featuring a unique onboard storage, this hand mixer allows you to attach the beaters and dough hooks straight onto its body. You may keep everything neatly together in one piece rather than strewing them across several drawers.

To make it even easier to be stored, the cord is able to wrap around the bottom effortlessly and there is also a cable storage clip included to provide you with the extra convenience.

The other feature that you will like is that the sealed rubber control buttons are fitted flush to the body of the hand mixer. This means that no splashes will be able to work their way into any gaps and you can clean it at ease.

Russell-Hobbs-22960-Easy-Prep-Hand-Mixer

However, one drawback found is that no balloon whisk is going to be included in the delivery box.

What are others saying?

To the users, the onboard storage is a real no-brainer. This tiny detail allows bakers to keep things stay together tidily and forgetting where you have left your attachments is going to be a thing of the past.

The reviews agree that this model is really compact and buying a 500W motor at a price under £40 strongly suggests that this model has a good value for money.

Some reflected that the beaters are narrowly fitted, so it works nicely with smaller bowls.

4. Kenwood kMix Hand Mixer

Price: £75.77

Motor: 350W

Weight: 1.51KG

Speed settings: 5

Attachments: Beaters, dough hooks (dishwasher safe)

Warranty: 1 year

Best for – Everyday use

Kenwood-kMix-Hand-Mixer

Test and perfect your culinary skills with this retro-looking and yet modern clever Kenwood kMix hand mixer – one of the other best hand mixers 2018 I would really recommend.

Thanks to its die-cast aluminium body, this model looks nice and solid and gives the user a solid touch. The soft grip handle is comfy to be gripped you can rest assured that it is not going to slip even when it is wet. Wonderful.

The 350W motor is between the mid and high range for a hand mixer and it is going to be able to effortlessly handle most, if not all the tasks you throw at it as long as you stay in the suggested limits.

Kenwood-kMix-Hand-MixerThe Kenwood advises users not to exceed 400g of flour when preparing dough mixtures. Plus, in order to ensure its longevity, do not run the hand mixer for longer than three minutes in every five-minute spell when preparing heavy mixtures.

This kMix hand mixer features a five-speed setting, with the adequate amount of resistance between each speed – a feature that makes sure you don’t jump from speed 1 to 5 accidentally, which can happen with some other hand mixers.

The speed settings are carefully designed and you can feel it when you are using it. The difference between the speeds is appreciable – speed 1 is really slow enough for you to add your ingredients without it flying off and speed 5 allows you to beat in a blink of an eye.

You may also find the pulse function useful when you are dealing with delicate tasks – it is located above speed 0. The mixer operates at a high speed if you push the speed selector away from yourself and it will automatically bounce back to speed 0 if you release the pressure.

There will also be a handy stand for you to keep your attachments and hand mixer together and display them on Kenwood-kMix-Hand-Mixeryour worktop.

And, as you can expect from a premium hand mixer, there is an ejector button for easy removal of attachments. Also, the attachments are 100% stainless steel and can be put in the dishwasher.

One drawback is that this model does not come with a balloon whisk.

Due to its die-cast aluminium body, this model is about 500g heavier than most plastic-made hand mixers but on the other hand, the noise level is significantly lower because of the insulation effect.

This hand mixer is also available in many other colours such as aqua blue or zinc grey. You may click on the link below to check out more colours.

What are others saying?

The verified buyers commented that this kMix hand mixer performed well in mixing ingredients and the 350W motor is powerful enough for dealing with sticky doughs.

This model is sturdy and robust – it looks and feels like it should cost more than it does.

However, some said that they don’t like the time and weight limit. They also find it tricky to completely keep the cord in the tidy at the bottom of the mixer body.

5. Bosch MFQ40303GB Styline Hand Mixer

Price: £64.07

Weight: 1KG

Speed settings: 5

Warranty: 2 years

Best for – Extremely powerful motor and the quietest

Bosch-MFQ40303GB-Styline-Hand-Mixer

This Bosch Styline hand mixer is another stylish workhorse you can find on the list of best hand mixers 2018.

The 500W motor of this model so powerful that you can literally whip your egg whites to perfection within a minute. Yes, this is a fact. I am not trying to exaggerate here.

Despite the powerful motor, the noise level and surprisingly low thanks to the latest technologies and materials used in building this machine.

This makes this Bosch hand mixer particularly suitable for bakers with a baby or toddler at home. You can enjoy your baking session without worrying that your baby is going to be woken up by any noise.

The other feature that helps to produce the perfect cream and meringue is its two innovative FineCreamer beaters.Bosch-MFQ40303GB-Styline-Hand-Mixer

These beaters may look odd at the first sight, but the little balls are there to help to pull more air into your mixture. The result? Your airier creams and dough in shorter time.

These amazingly designed beaters also make sure that there is hardly any cloud when you are trying to incorporate your icing sugar. Trying to covering your mixing bowl with a tea towel to avoid the cloud of icing sugar flying everywhere surely becomes a thing of the past if you own one of these Bosch hand mixers.

We have also noticed that the fan of this machine, unlike most of the hand mixers on the market, is at the back. This feature is believed to help in avoiding any flour or icing sugar gets into the engine and helps in extending the longevity of this machine.

The other great benefit we get from the latest motor technology and materials is the super light weight of this hand mixer.

Weight at only 1KG, this model is what you should consider if you don’t have a particularly strong arm or if you are keen to bake with your children. This model will definitely make everything less tiring.

Bosch-MFQ40303GB-Styline-Hand-MixerOther than a five-speed setting which provides that optimal power in every situation, this hand mixer also carries an additional turbo and pulse function. You may give your mixture an extra burst of power whenever necessary and you can also gain the full control when you are occupied with some delicate tasks.

What are others saying?

This brilliant Bosch MFQ40303GB Styline hand mixer has received an overwhelmingly positive response from the verified buyers.

The most prominent feature is undoubtedly its extremely low noise level – some said that they may hear the TV even when they are using this machine.

The buyers are surprised with the power of the motor too, given that it operates at such a low noise level.

6. Bosch MFQ36300GB ErgoMixx Hand Mixer

Price: £34.99

Motor: 400W

Weight: 0.8KG

Speed settings: 5

Attachments: Beaters, dough hooks (dishwasher safe)

Warranty: 2 years

Best for – Light and quiet

Bosch-MFQ36300GB-ErgoMixx-Hand-Mixer

If you are not yet ready to spend such a big chunk of money in purchasing the Bosch MFQ40303GB hand mixer (number 5), here’s another mini version of it.

This ErgoMixx hand mixer is also produced by Bosch.

Its handle is ergonomically designed to ensure maximum comfort while you are mixing and it features the same noise reduction technology. You may rest assured that your baby is definitely getting his sweet afternoon nap while you are using this spare time to bake.

Bosch-MFQ36300GB-ErgoMixx-Hand-MixerNot only being equally quiet, this model also comes in a five-speed setting and carries the pulse and burst functions.

The most noticeable difference between the Styline and this ErgoMixx hand mixer is perhaps the power of their motors. The motor of this ErgoMixx hand mixer is 400W, which is weaker than the Styline hand mixer motor.

However, provided that the price of it is almost half of that of the Styline, this can definitely be considered as a great value for money. Plus, a 400W motor is already powerful enough for you to deal with your everyday cooking and baking activities.

Similar with the Styline, the ErgoMixx also comes with two sets of attachments, which are the dough hooks and the beaters. An ejector button can also be found on the unit.

Though, the beaters between the two models are different. The beaters of the Bosch-MFQ36300GB-ErgoMixx-Hand-MixerErgoMixx hand mixer are traditionally designed with no tiny metallic balls on it. This can be disappointing if you are a baker who has a high cream standard.

However, similar to the KitchenAid® beaters, the centre posts are eliminated, so you don’t have to worry that there will be any food collected there.

One feature that the ErgoMixx stands out is it is extremely lightweight. Weighing just under 800g, it is, in fact, one of the lightest models you can get from the market, especially at this level of premium quality. You won’t stop singing the praises once you have had a try on it.

What are others saying?

This Bosch ErgoMixx hand mixer has received a high 4.5 out of 5 stars from the verified buyers on the Amazon.

From the customer reviews, you can easily tell that this model is well-built and easy to use. It works really quietly even when operating at the highest speed. Plus, it is compact to store.

But, some did mention that its maximum speed is not as quick as they expect and it struggled a bit with heavy dough mixtures.

 Swan-5-Speed-Retro-Hand-Mixer

For example, its 350W motor is powerful enough to work perfectly and allow you to bake and create with confidence.

 What are others saying?

This Swan 5-speed hand mixer might not be the most functional model at the end of the day but the verified buyers supported that it is gorgeous and sturdy and feels like it should cost more than the original price of it – this product has a good value for money

One most noticeable drawback, though, is its speed settings. Many find that even at the lowest speed setting, the speed is too high and this may cause potential spillage of ingredients.

This is the cheapest model on today’s recommendation list, so we are not expecting for a bunch of striking features from it. But, we definitely need it to work nicely in the way it should.

With a 300W motor, this hand mixer is more recommended for light to medium use such as making icing or light cake batter. But, it does have a turbo mode to aid your cream or egg whites whipping process.

Quite a few of the verified buyers commented that the release button is stiff and they have faced some difficulties in making it work. Also, the beater blades are thin.

Overall, this product has received more than 2200 reviews on the Amazon and has earned a rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars.

9. Breville SHM2 Twin Hand and Stand Mixer

Price: £54.99

Motor: 380W

Weight: 3.3KG

Speed settings: 10

Accessories: Beaters, dough hooks, balloon whisk, spatula (dishwasher safe)

Warranty: 1 year

Best for – Baking in larger quantities

Breville-SHM2-Twin-Hand-and-Stand-Mixer

You shouldn’t ignore this compact and versatile Breville SHM2 Twin Hand and Stand Mixer if you really want a stand mixer but you have not prepared yourself for such a big-ticket item.

Why we consider this model versatile, you ask?

This model acts as a combination of stand and hand mixer. You may detach and use it as a traditional hand mixer when you need a greater control and on the other hand, it can be easily kept in place to be used as a stand mixer.

Breville-SHM2-Twin-Hand-and-Stand-Mixer

Being larger than a hand mixer, this model is able to deal with a larger quantity of ingredients. For example, its mixing bowl is able to hold up to two litres of liquid or one litre of dry ingredients.

This machine is built with a patented twin motor. When it is used as a stand mixer, one of the motors will drive the beaters and the other rotates the mixing bowl. They work in two opposite directions – this is to ensure a greater coverage and your mixture will be effectively combined.

Breville-SHM2-Twin-Hand-and-Stand-MixerThe device is equipped with a 10-speed setting and a boost function. You can easily change the working speed while the device is operating, thanks to its freestanding unit.

Other than the basic beaters, dough hooks and a balloon whisk, a spatula is also included in the purchase. This spatula is uniquely shaped to fit the mixing bowl so you can work the most out of your bowl when you are scrapping by using this spatula.

A beater ejector button is located at the head of the unit to aid the removal of attachments and all accessories including the spatula are dishwasher safe. You may leave all the heavy cleaning jobs to your machine and just focus on your baked goods.

What are others saying?

Out of over 600 reviews, this Breville SHM2 Twin Hand and Stand Mixer have been rated at 4.4 out of 5 stars.

Compared with other branded stand mixers on the market, this model is thought to be too basic to build a supreme quality but this is an excellent choice if all you want is just a basic and working-without-problem model.

This model has an excellent value for money and some commented that this is particularly suitable for baking with children due to its ease of use and clean.

Weighing at a light 3.3KG, some noticed that this machine shakes quite vigorously when it is working with heavy mixtures. The other issue is that the beaters seem too short to reach deep enough to give a good mix.

10. Kenwood Chefette HM680 Hand Mixer with Bowl

Price: £54.99

Motor: 350W

Weight: 2.3KG

Speed settings: 5

Accessories: Beaters, dough hooks, balloon whisk (dishwasher safe)

Warranty: 1 year

Best for – A combination of quality and versatility

Kenwood-Chefette-HM680-Hand-Mixer-wih-Bowl

The last model on the list of best hand mixers 2018 for you today will be this Kenwood Chefette HM680 hand mixer with a bowl.

Adding ingredients to your mixing bowl while keeping your hand mixer in place is normally a three-hand job but with this Kenwood hand mixer with bowl, this problem will be a thing of the past!

To begin with, gently tilt the head of the unit upwards and add your ingredients into the mixing bowl, which has a working capacity of 1.5 litres (total capacity of three litres).

Kenwood-Chefette-HM680-Hand-Mixer-with-BowlBoth stainless steel-made and plastic made mixing bowls are available as options but we will recommend the stainless steel mixing bowl. The reason is it can be frustrating to watch if your plastic-made bowl is covered with scratches and stains. Not to mention if odours are trapped in it.

Similar with the Breville twin stand and hand mixer, when operating, the mixing bowl of this Kenwood machine also rotates in the opposite direction of to the beaters so you can get for a better coverage on your food mixture and of course, a promising result.

If the mess is what drives you crazy, the thing you can’t miss out here is the splash guard that comes with this machine. It clicks into place above the mixing bowl and eliminates splashes.

Similar with the Kenwood kMix hand mixer (number 4), this device comes with a five-speed setting and a pulse function that is operated in the same way –  to activate the pulse function, you need to push the speed selector away from yourself and the mixer will operate at a high speed at this time. If you release the pressure, the speed selector bounces back to speed 0.

This pulse function is more frequently used when you are dealing with some delicate tasks.

The other thoughtful feature is the designated cable storage area at the back of this model so you can keep it in your cupboard neat and tangle-free.

What are others saying?

Kenwood clearly speaks for itself and hasn’t disappointed his customers today. Over 90% of verified users have left a 4 or five-star review for this Kenwood machine and this has resulted in an overall rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars (from about 300 reviews) on this product.

The users love that it is nifty, compact and easy to use. It comes at a reasonable size so it’s not taking up much space on your worktop while it’s light enough for bakers to carry and lift to put it in the cupboard.

Best hand mixers 2018  – 7 things to consider when choosing a hand mixer

1. Motor power

Sorry for making this technical but this is a very big part when you are paying for your hand mixer. A stronger motor means that your hand mixer is able to cope with more labour-intensive work without getting excessively overheated. This is going to ensure your hand mixer a longer life so this definitely has to be the key when you are taking considerations on the best hand mixers 2018.

Most hand mixers have a 300 – 500W motor but you should also note that sometimes wattage is not the only indicator of power. For example, KitchenAid® hand mixers are made with a DC (direct current) motor. These kinds of motor use energy more efficiently, so they only need a lower level of wattage.

2. Price range

Hand mixers are a lot more affordable when compared with the stand mixers. Depending on your specific needs and willingness to pay, there is always a hand mixer that suits you.

Some of the most affordable choices come at £25 or below while most of the best options come at around £50. It is also not uncommon to see some premium hand mixers costing £100 or more.

Generally, as a model is pricier, you can expect more attractive features from it. For example. they tend to be made from materials of higher quality or they’ve got some awesome speed settings and controls.

3. Attachments

The basic attachments that should be included are the:

Flat beaters: The most used attachments and the all-the-time choice when you need to mix your cookie dough or cake batter.

Balloon whisk: Use this attachment for whipping meringue or other soft ingredients such as cream or frosting.

Dough hooks: This spiral or C-shaped attachment is for working with yeast ingredients such as bread or pizza dough.

If your hand mixer comes with a bowl, the other factor you need to consider is the length of the attachments. They should be in an ideal length that allows them to reach ingredients at the bottom of the mixing bowl.

4. Weight and size

Like many other kitchen appliances, a higher quality product often means a heavier product. A heavier hand mixer gives a better stability when you are mixing heavy ingredients such as thick batter or bread dough but it can be demanding on your arm strength if you are mixing for a longer time. It is for you to take the balance between the quality and weight.

Size is another factor to consider when you are choosing a hand mixer. Ideally, you want it to come at a size that you can comfortably fit it in your cupboard.

5. Speed settings

Almost all hand mixers on the market will have a speed setting of at least three options but if you are a keen baker and are looking for a higher precision, a model with at least five or a six-speed setting is what you should consider.

Cream and egg whites need to be whipped at a high speed while dough preparation and ingredients folding need to be performed at a low speed. Some models of hand mixers may include a turbo setting or a slow-start mode to aid the baking and food preparation process.

6. Ease of cleaning

The ease of cleaning is one of the greatest advantages of the hand mixer when comparing it with the stand mixers.

Some of the best hand mixers 2018 gain extra points for their dishwasher safe attachments while some may include an ejecting button for ease of removing the attachments.

After each use, it is advisable to wipe your machine with a piece of wet cloth to keep it clean.

7. Warranty

Very often, how long the warranty lasts gives a great hint on the product quality. A longer warranty is always preferred.

Verdict

The features of the KitchenAid® 9-Speed Digital Hand Mixer are the most attractive and comprehensive of all. We consider this model as the ultimate hand mixer target if you are anything like a keen baker.

On the other hand, we think the Kenwood kMix hand mixer is the most suitable model for everyday use due to its great performance in mixing and whipping and the product longevity.

Lastly, we will recommend the VonShef Professional 300W Hand Mixer to all beginners.

We hope you have enjoyed reading this review of best hand mixers 2018. If you have any problem or any thoughts to share, please leave it in the comment section below! 🙂

Fantastic article. I had no idea there was so much information available on mixers. I enjoy cooking, and anything that can make the process easier with a high-quality end result is a major plus.

      Hi,

I’m happy that you’ve got a bit more of the idea when you are looking for a hand mixer next time! 🙂

And, yeah, I agree with you. Machines are always invented to make our lives easier and prettier. If there’s any machine that makes your headache, that is definitely a failure!

  • Vicki Crawford

    What a great article
I have 2 mixers, one handheld for quick jobs and the other for doing big baking missions
You have given me some ideas for when I need to repurchase as one of my beaters is getting a little bit tired so thank you

    • Crystal

Me too! I think that’s an ultimate goal for all chefs and bakers! 🙂

I use my stand mixer is for bigger tasks like making a massive cake and I can leave a while to do my hair; the hand mixer is used when all I need to do is literally just whip an egg, so convenient!

I’m glad that I am able to give you a bit of help in choosing another hand mixer! 🙂

This is indeed a comprehensive review, I would say is more like a great guide.
Your recommendations are undoubted of the best quality and you have covered the most important aspects of hand mixers information.

Thank you for this great information.

    • Crystal

      Hey,

Thanks for stopping by and leaving me such a lovely comment! I’m just happy to share some information with you guys! 🙂

Being able to help is always my pleasure!

  • Joo

Wow, you have gone to great length to do up this review! I absolutely love that it is so detailed and comprehensive, makes our decisions very informed and convenient. And I agree that once you start owning a hand mixer, you can never go back to manual mixing. Especially for people who love to bake, this is definitely an essential item in the kitchen.

    • Crystal

      Hey,

Thanks for your nice words! I really tried to be as informative as possible in the guide! Thankfully, you guys find this helpful! 🙂

And, exactly, I am not quite sure how did I survive those days without a hand mixer, haha!

    Baking is fun.

From mixing the dough to cooking in the oven, I feel happy that my family is able to taste my home- made cake once done.

I prefer the Breville SHM2 Twin Hand and Stand Mixer because you can use it either by hand or by itself.

Using a hand mixer definitely lessens the load in baking, it is really a must-have in the kitchen.

    Thanks for this post.

      Hi Marital,

Honestly, my first mixer is also a hand+stand mixer and it’s really a convenient piece of tool in my kitchen! And I agree with you, it’s really versatile as you may choose to detach or attach it on the stand depending on what you are up to.

I am using other more advanced hand mixer now but that was indeed a lovely mixer. Reminds me of my first days in baking!

    Hi Crystal,
Great review, I really loved the reading!

I am passionate about baking, and every time I have the time, I make a cake. I have plenty of books on the best pastries, and I learn a lot from them. I have a mixer, but I found it really difficult to work with it. I need a hand mixer now and the one that the most on the list is the Bosh Stylines. This is the mixer I want to work with. It is lightweight. It’s strong and quite. Perfect! Just a question, please. What is the limit time of the warranty?

Thank you for this excellent post!

    • Crystal

      Hi Daniella,

Yeah, the Bosch Styline is definitely one of the best choices here! The most attractive feature of it is definitely its extremely low noise level while it is not heavy to handle at all!

It’s got a warranty time of two years from Bosch! Hope this helps 🙂

I have to say I have used that Kitchenaid mixer you mentioned and it is a fantastic mixer. It was the first mixer I used without the little post in the middle and it really truly is great because I hated how much stuff got stuck to those mixers. I recently added one of those Kitchenaid mixers with the bowl and that thing is great as well. I think kitchenaid products are just good overall. Thanks for this.

    • Crystal

Absolutely! Life is just so much easier as they removed the centre posts in the beaters – food collected at the ends of the posts are a literally huge pain when you are trying to clean them.

KitchenAid products are always great, but their price tag is the real issue. But, if you are planning to get a quality product to be used in the long term, KitchenAid is definitely one of the best you can get!

  • Ash

Wow, this is so comprehensive! Even after hearing your reviews there’s still so many to choose from lol. Do you like hand mixers or stand mixers better? I’ve always wanted a stand mixer lol

    • Crystal

      Actually, I have both, haha!

I think stand mixers are really useful when you need to deal with a larger amount of food or when you wish to make other food such as meatballs. You can just pop everything in and leave to do your hair before your ingredients are ready. And, they are generally more powerful than the hand mixers.

But, the hand mixers come really handy when all you need to do is whisk some ingredients within five minutes or so. You get greater control and they are easier to clean.

However, I will say that it’s worth having two of them for all keen bakers.:)

  • Simon

Hey Crystal, thanks for your comprehensive review on this wide range of hand mixers.
We’re on the lookout for something that’s convenient to store, lightweight to pull out of a cupboard, easy to use, operates with a quiet motor and is easily cleaned.
I appreciate your verdict, however, we’re quite swayed towards the Bosch Styline hand mixer, simply because we have a few Bosche appliances and they all perform robustly yet run quietly, a particular feature we tend to look out for.
    Thanks again, very well written,
    Simon.

    • Crystal

      Hi Simon,

I know. The name “Bosch” pretty much stands for quality and actually, the Styline is also one of my favourite models! Strong motor power, super quiet, easy to use and extra light, I can see why you love it! 🙂

I’m happy that I am able to help you a bit in the process of choosing a hand mixer! Thanks for your encouraging words too!

I’m not a big fan of baking cakes but really enjoy eating them 😀 However, my sister definitely loves baking cakes and I want to help her out wherever possible, because if she keeps baking then I keep eating. I’m going for the Bosch MFQ36300GB ErgoMixx Hand Mixer since it’s light and quiet, as I’m not looking for anything expensive so this would be great, thanks.

    • Crystal

      Hi Brandon,

I can imagine your sister is going to appreciate your help, haha! I always love to bake, but sometimes my family feel that they’ve got too much cake and would ban me from baking more (sad). But, who cares? I bake as frequent as I would, haha!
The Bosch ErgoMixx is also one of my favourite models! Powerful yet light and quiet, what can you ask for more? You can recommend this to your sister! 🙂

Such an informative post! I’ve been shopping around for a good hand mixer and thankfully came across this post. After reading, I think I’m going to go with the VonShef handmixer because of the value!

    • Crystal

      Hi Kaleb,

Yeah, the Vonshef is definitely a good choice if you are looking for a product with great value for money! Not expensive and does everything it should in the way we want! That’s going to be a lovely piece for you! 🙂

      Regards,
      Crystal
